What is Dear Divorcée?
Dear Divorcée is an organization for women dealing with divorce. Whether they're still contemplating their marriage, or whether they have been divorced for 20 years, everyone is welcome to join the group. Our mission is to provide support and education to women dealing with this difficult transition in their lives.
How do we support our mission?
Every month we host social and educational events. We have a broad range of social events and are always open to ideas. From salsa dancing, to happy hours, to movie nights and brunch, our goal is to get out and have fun. It's a great chance for women to relate with others that understand the emotions they're dealing with, but also create lasting friendships.
Our educational events are focused around the financial, legal, emotional and real property aspects of the divorce process. We have professionals from each industry come speak to the group and offer themselves as a resource. Sometimes we even do an educational & social combo to keep the dreadful stuff more fun!

Why did I start it?
I have been divorced myself and I understand what these women are dealing with. I am also a child of divorced parents so I've seen the emotional roller coaster from several angles. I naturally started attracting divorcées as clients through my financial planning business and realized that a lot of them didn't have other divorced friends. (It's not typically the 'sex in the city' lifestyle that everyone imagines!) One day I decided to invite everyone to brunch and we all had a great time, so that's when I chose to start Dear Divorcée and share it with the community.

How can women join?
Sorry fellas, I have nothing against you but this group is specifically for women. All women contemplating divorce, women going through the process, or women that have already been through it, are able to join. There are no dues, you just pay for your own expenses during our outings. We have a meetup page where we post all of our events, and a facebook page where we act as more of a community. Join both pages and you're part of the group! It's that simple. You can find the links below:
