My name is Angelique Ayala. I'm a native to the Washington, DC area (I know, I belong in a museum) and have no plans to leave.
I'm a financial advisor and I absolutely love my job. Most people fall into my profession as a second or third career, but this is what I went to college for. I've had my eye on financial advising since I was a little kid. But I'll be honest, I didn't realize it until my senior year of high school. While I was growing up, my friends used to give me their money so I could help them save for trips, tattoos, cars, etc. Looking back on it now, I should have charged them interest but unfortunately I didn't think of it at the time. However, the real passion behind loving my job is because of my parents. Unfortunately my parents haven't made the best financial decisions over their lives because they didn't have someone trustworthy or reliable to give them the solid advice they needed. I won't go into their story but my goal is to educate my clients and be a resource for the community to help individuals and families gain the peace of mind they're looking for. I truly believe there is a lack of education about reliable financial strategies so I'm on a mission to spread the word.
I choose to work a long hours but I promise I also have a social life. I'm lucky to have my immediate family and close friends in the area, so I spend as much time with them as possible. During the warmer months, my boyfriend, Jose, and I take our dog, Anna, on hikes around the area and try to do outdoor activities as much as possible. We love taking weekend trips to other cities and vacations to other countries. Seeing other cultures and environments is truly an amazing thing.
Apart from that, I love doing community service to help others but I also look to expand and grow myself. I consistently read and listen to audio books, mostly about self improvement. I enjoy learning more about others and meeting new people so always feel welcome to reach out!
